LaTania Wilson, founder of Summer Screening Services, began her entrepreneurial journey during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic. Growing up in Queensbridge, LaTania was no stranger to hard work and determination, values instilled in her by her mother. With a background in law and real estate, LaTania initially pursued a career as a legal assistant at Columbia University. However, her drive for more led her to discover an emerging need in the health sector—reliable drug and health testing services. In 2020, during a pivotal moment on a Zoom call, she learned about the demand for essential testing, and her business vision was born. LaTania knew that providing a service people could rely on during such uncertain times would make a significant difference.

Building Summer Screening Services from the ground up, LaTania’s focus was on delivering fast, accurate, and professional testing solutions. Understanding the critical role of drug and alcohol testing for workplaces and individuals, as well as the constant need for health screenings, she committed to offering a range of services, including DNA testing and rapid testing. What began as a leap into the unknown quickly turned into a thriving business, as LaTania secured her first client in September 2020 and has never looked back. Her ability to identify a business that addressed a key public need allowed Summer Screening Services to grow rapidly.
